July Member of the Month: Jennifer Rich

Jen is an incredibly strong athlete and a pillar of consistency. She comes in every morning at 5:15am ready to attack whatever challenge we throw at her. She is always cheering on people to help them achieve their goals. At the end of any workout she is cheering you on. Jen and her husband John are great examples of people who find a great balance of work, parenting and fitness. We are very lucky to have them both.
Here is an interview with Jennifer:
How did you learn about CrossFit/CFME? How long have you done CrossFit?
Two years ago I was at a family party when I saw Suzanne Benigni wearing a shirt that said ASK ME. So I did and have been hooked ever since. My husband and I had been going to a local gym at the time and we were both getting bored by our routine. So we started with On Ramp and let me tell you I was very nervous the first time I walked into the box. Work outs like CrossFit were something I had never done.
What do you like about it?
Our trainers and members welcomed us and there was no judgement.
Favorite CrossFit movement? Least favorite?
My favorite CrossFit move is deadlift, and least is strict overhead.
What would you recommend to someone who is just starting out with CrossFit or is too afraid to try it?
I would totally recommend CrossFit to anyone who wants to get in shape. The trainers are patient and really help you understand the proper technique. I love the way I feel when I leave knowing I pushed myself to my limits. I have also gained a new group of friends who I couldn't be happier to have met.
